How to build a proper team without destroying your business
Learn how to build the base of your business correctly so that it doesn't fall apart.
Owning a business ISN’T an easy ask, obviously.
And do you know what’s even more difficult?
Running a business alone.
Because then you’d have to do EVERYTHING.
And if you sell services (without considering personal brands), you have a problem.
I mean, if you’re a superhuman, you may be able to start a service based business alone, though this is called reality, and soon it’s gonna collapse.
Let’s say you found a few people to form part of your team, and the business still ain’t bussing
“What did I do wrong, if I have a team?”
Two answers
You didn’t work well
You chose the worst people to work with you
The first one is your fault, your problem.
The second one is also your fault.
You can’t make any random idiot out there join you just because they have a skill that is needed
“Oh this nigga is fine, he replies every 2 weeks, doesn’t communicate well and has a different timezone, but at least he knows video editing, he’s defo the right one”
Yeah yeah, please don’t do this.
You want loyal people, but you know most bastards out there just want you for the benefit that you’re gonna make.
First of all, know what are your priority values.
My priority values are responsibility, commitment and experience.
So you want to make sure, the people that are “interested” in joining your team, have the values that are your priority.
As an example:
Responsibility: Being responsible and doing their work at time. If the person ignores or forgets about the work, they’re not fully commited, hence i’ll give them a last opportunity. If they fail, this person must automatically be kicked from the team. Because if the team isn’t working, believe me the business won’t.
Commitment: Not interested, replying late, not participating at all, or ignoring messages and work, are a kick from the team.
Experience: The more experience in the skill that’s required, the better the business will march.
So, next time you’re gathering individuals for your company work-team, keep all of this in mind, it’s gonna help you avoid situations that you DON’T want to get in.
Stay hard.
